In Progress
- Julian: A Biography
Julian of Norwich was a 14th century mystic who was the first woman to write a book in the English language. She wrote an account of 16 "showings" that she received that revealed to her the love of God. Very little is known about her life, except that she served as an anchoress for many years at a small church in Norwich. My biography uses her own writing along with historical research as "windows" onto her life. I have completed this manuscript, which will be published next year by Paraclete Press. In May, on a grant from the Louisville Institute, I traveled to East Anglia for research.

- Exile: Where Sex Meets the Church
This book is newly under contract with Beacon Press. After conducting dozens of interviews with people on the relationship between faith and sex, I have selected eight stories for this book on how people have struggled to integrate these two areas of their lives. The book will propose a different way of looking at Christian sexual ethics through the lens of incarnation.
